E2 Series — Self-Lubricating Linear Guide
The E2 adds a lubrication module between the end cap and the wiper, fed from a replaceable oil cassette on the outside of the block. A three-dimensional wick keeps the oil in contact with the ball track whatever the mounting orientation, and drains the cassette completely. No lube line, no pump, no oil disposal.
Technical highlights
- Replaceable cassette reservoir, 10 cc, good for about 50,000 km of travel
- Wick feeds oil in any mounting orientation, including upside down
- Cassette is swapped on the machine, without removing the block
- No oil mist, no drip, no waste oil to dispose of
- Under normal use almost no maintenance over the service life
- Grease can be loaded instead of oil for dusty, wet or outdoor environments
What it changes
| Item | Central lubrication | E2 self-lubricating |
|---|---|---|
| Lube line and fittings | Required | None |
| Lube system design and install | Required | None |
| Oil consumption | Continuous, per shift | 10 cc cassette per 50,000 km |
| Oil change and disposal | Periodic, plus waste handling | None |
Where it is used
Clean environments
Semiconductor, medical and food equipment where oil mist is not acceptable.
Hard-to-reach axes
No room to route a lube line to the block.
Dusty, wet or outdoor machines
Run grease in the cassette for harsh conditions.
Low-maintenance equipment
Machines where a greasing stop costs more than the guide.
TCO question: whether E2 pays off depends on how many lubrication points you would otherwise install and what a greasing stop costs you. Send the axis count and we will work the numbers with you.
